The platform of MFG-5/MFC-5 Microforge-Grinding Center and Microforge-Precision Cutter is made from a high-quality horizontal binocular microscope. A precision optical focus system with a 2-axial micromanipulation pipette holder can handle a single pipette or a multipipette conveniently and precisely. The pipette holder is 360 degrees rotatable for different angle beveling, pipette bending, or polishing. Another 2-axial micromanipulator controls a combination of a platinum mini-heater and a precision microgrinder or a precision cutter. They are situated side by side. Moving the heater and the grinder or the cutter to the focus position will automatically switch the power supply for the aligned tool. There is a foot switch that controls the aligned heater/grinder on/off. An adjusting dial knob controls the heater level or grinder speed.

MDI's MFG Microforge-Grinding Center series are the first creation design in the world for micropipette / multi-pipette post-pulled tip precision modifications combination. It combines a precision microforge and a microgrinder for borosilicate micro-pipettes or a precision cutter for polycarbonate plastic micro-pipettes in a compact horizontal microscope platform. It can be used for micropipette tip cutting, polishing, shaping, tipping, bending, breaking, beveling, and grinding. It is an ideal micropipette/multi-pipette tip modifications center.

The MFC-5AP Microforge-Precision Cuter is specially designed and made for cutting a pulled polycarbonate pipette tip to a very accurate opening size under precision microscope scale eyepieces. A specially designed and modified extremely sharp blade can perform accurate cutting without frizzy edges. After precision cutting, the polycarbonate pipette can be moved immediately to the micro-heater for gentle polishing. The seamless precision cutting-polishing procedures make the MFC-5AP a perfect precision tool for post-pulled polycarbonate pipette modifications.
